TO BE PRODUCED
WHEN
APPLYING FOR A VISA FOR FAMILY REUNION
(parents
in a state
of financial dependency wishing to
reunite
with children in Belgium)
1) A valid passport:
To be obtained from the local Public Security Bureau. Please submit two
photocopies of your complete passport (all the filled pages).
2) Four application
forms signed and dated by the applicant. These forms are to be completed in
Dutch, French or English, preferably by typewriter. On each form a 2-inch
photograph should be affixed.
3) Two photocopies of
the applicant’s identity card.
4) A notarized birth
certificate. *
Please submit two photocopies of this
document. The original certificate will be returned to you when the visa is
granted.
5) A notarized
certificate proving the family ties with the child residing in Belgium. *
6) A notarized
certificate of good conduct together with a translation. This document has to
be certified by the Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Bureau or the relevant
provincial Foreign Affairs Bureau. It is valid six months only from the date of
issue. In case you resided in a foreign country during the latest 5 years, you
should moreover submit a certificate issued by the relevant authorities of that
foreign country. *
7) A notarized
certificate concerning your professional duty or your retirement status.*
8) A certificate of
registration issued to the child(ren) by the municipality in Belgium and a photocopy of the
child(ren)’s Belgian Identity Card or unlimited residence permit in Belgium.
9) Sufficient proof
of your financial dependence on the child residing in Belgium. (proof of
regular remittances).
10) Two envelopes
with family name, first name, post code and address in Chinese and your
telephone number.
11) Depending on
circumstances, other documents may be demanded.
Note: All
documents (except those under 1, 2 & 3) have to be produced in one original and one photocopy.
You should submit all the required documents listed above in person Monday through Thursday from
9:30 till 12:00 AM.
Visas can be picked up Monday through Friday from 14:00 till 16:30 PM.
Only complete files will be accepted.
Your dossier will be forwarded to the relevant authorities for
approval.
You will be informed in due time of the decision taken by these
authorities.
*: All notarized
certificates shall be authenticated by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Foreign
Affairs Bureau or the relevant provincial Foreign Affairs Bureau before being
authenticated by the Consulate General of Belgium.
